Even at a young age the breasts can lose firmness and when this happens severely the only solution is surgery.
The loss of tone depends on a set of concomitant factors, such as the size of the breasts, significant weight loss, smoking, exposure to sunlight or even the use of the wrong bra.

In case of more or less severe ptosis of the breast it is necessary to undergo a mastopexy, a breast lift. In order to give greater support and guarantee a longer-lasting result to my patients, I use GalaFlex mesh. The GalaFlex is a sort of internal bra that supports the breast and redistributes and/or reduces the weight of the implants to give greater stability.

The GalaFlex network
GalaFlex mesh is used to give greater support and stability after breast augmentation surgery to obtain a longer-lasting result over time. It is a biological mesh that acts as an internal bra and supports the breast, so that the weight of the implants can be redistributed and/or reduced, bringing long-term benefits.

This is a real revolution: the Galaflex mesh is inserted like a bra which assists the operation and the finding of the natural position even in cases of operations on young patients.

It is a biological mesh for surgical use that lifts, supports, repairs and strengthens the breasts. It is reabsorbed within 18-24 months, in a completely natural way.

It has optimal properties for soft tissue reinforcement, both in functional and aesthetic procedures. It is made of P4HB, a biopolymer that constitutes a monofilament suture thread, bioderived and bioabsorbable, which thanks to its unique properties is reabsorbed by hydrolysis, leaving room for a strong and resistant tissue, self-created by the organism itself.

Furthermore, in the case of mastopexy and in the presence of the right indication, it is possible to obtain exceptional results only with the use of the Galaflex mesh and without the use of any prosthesis.

What is P4HB?
P4HB has a unique set of properties, particularly compared to other polymers commonly used in absorbable medical devices, such as polyglycolide (PGA) and polylactide (PLA), which are inherently more rigid materials. The properties of P4HB make it possible to produce high-strength biomaterial without sacrificing elasticity to produce strong, flexible monofilament fibers.

P4HB gradually and predictably degrades by hydrolysis into components that are natural to the human body, resulting in a minimal inflammatory response compared to other soft tissue support devices.

P4HB meshes are designed to encourage rapid tissue growth and reduce the risk of infection. They are also tested in preclinical and clinical studies to evaluate safety and effectiveness.

More than 3 million patients worldwide have been implanted with P4HB devices.
Longer lasting results
Clinical studies show that within 10 years of surgery, between 32% and 48% of patients undergo a second surgery to review the results of the initial surgery.

The most common reason for these secondary procedures is a recurrence of soft tissue ptosis.

In preclinical studies, the use of GalaFlex mesh has been shown to provide 2-4 times the strength of native tissue at 12 months post-implant, ensuring longer-lasting results.
