From classic to Russian lips: lip filler techniques

Le Russian lips they are undoubtedly the trend of the moment, with thousands of hashtags on Instagram and videos that are so popular on Tik Tok, so much so that they have triggered a new trend in the field of aesthetic medicine. But what does this treatment that comes from Russia and is driving Italian women crazy consist of? To understand this we need to take a step back and start from lip fillers.

Lip filler is certainly one of the most requested touch-ups in the aesthetic field and consists of increasing the volume of the lips and defining the shape through injections of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is, in fact, the ideal product for reshaping the lips, re-projecting the vermilion, correcting small wrinkles or asymmetries. It is thanks to it that the skin remains elastic and compact and through its injections the lips appear plumper, plumper and sensual.

The techniques used are different, just as the effects that can be achieved are different: not all retouched lips are the same!

The main techniques used are the linear, wheal or classic technique, which consists of inserting the needle parallel to the lip and injecting the filler while retracting the syringe, the vertical technique, which sees the injections perpendicular to the upper lip and the serial, which consists of injecting hyaluronic acid with multiple punctures per lip, one after the other. 

All techniques give full and seductive lips, but it is from the vertical that the Russian technique derives, a procedure that is increasingly requested thanks to the natural effect of the Russian lips.

Having abandoned the excesses of recent years, with hyper-projected lips or unpleasant effects such as duck lips, today the new trend focuses on a harmonious and proportionate beauty, typical of Russian lips.

This technique consists of raising the Cupid's bow through vertical injections, in order to sculpt the volume of the upper lip and raise the vermilion, through the release of very small particles of hyaluronic acid.

Personally, I use a method that combines different techniques for the creation of this lip filler, evaluating above all the starting point of each patient. This allows me to fill, widen and lift the lips where needed, raising the Cupid's bow without affecting the projection. The lips appear plump but high and flat, with a slight heart shape.

Regardless of the technique used, which I evaluate on a case-by-case basis, for me it is essential to improve the morphology of the patient's face, creating the lips best suited to the uniqueness of her face. Her lips are, in fact, studied on the patient's physiognomy and sculpted in harmony on her face.
The lips look so natural and, not particularly fond of exaggerated volumes, always very proportionate.

Like any other filler, it is a treatment that is performed in the clinic, lasting 20-30 minutes. Although it depends on each person's level of tolerance, it is not particularly painful, thanks also to the anesthetic cream that is applied before its execution.

The result is immediate although noticeable in a couple of days, once the typical swelling caused by the small trauma of the microlesions has passed. You can resume normal activities immediately after the injections, showing off the new ones immediately Russian lips!

The duration of the filler is subjective and depends on various factors, lifestyle, smoking, diet but above all on the time it takes the body to reabsorb the hyaluronic acid.
In any case, the new generation products I use are able to last from 3 to 6 months. Each filler, then, if repeated over time, creates a sort of base in the lips, each time increasing the amount of time between one touch-up and another.

Since this is a non-permanent product, if you want to return to the original lips you will just have to wait for the natural reabsorption of the product.
